My Life Goes Round and Round and Round

So yesterday I woke up at seven o’clock in the morning. I didn’t have to get up until eight o’clock to get ready for work so I didn’t sit up but I already felt bad because I’d woken up... with a headache. I don’t know about you but waking up with a headache is the worst start imaginable for the day, especially when you have to go to work.

Fortunately, being the pill popper that I am, I got rid of my headache quite quickly. I got dressed, packed my bag for work, did my hair, brushed my teeth and left the house. Being that this is the beginning of the eighth week that I’ve worked full time I know that my life has started to fall into a boring routine again.

I had this same problem with school last year. I’d get up and get ready for school, be at school for six hours and when I got home I’d barely have time to do anything except eat, shower, do homework and go to bed. I hate being stuck in a routine because it seems to be neverending and it drives me insane. I can’t wait until the 28th though because it will be the first day off I’ve had since Easter and I’m meeting John Green in Melbourne city!

I work seven and a half hours every day + break + travel time which means I’m out of my house for about nine hours every day. When I get up in the morning I don’t have time to do anything but get ready for work so I have to accomplish a lot of my “extra” tasks when I get home. I’ve been finishing at five thirty a lot lately which means I don’t get home until six.

Out of all the various tasks I do when I get home, my ongoing novel project has begun to fall to the bottom of the heap. There are several reasons for this. The novel I was working on has begun to get boring to write and really predictable so I think I’ve all but scrapped that. I have a few other stories that I’ve started so I could pick one to work on but I have no idea which one! I started a new one last night to save picking one so hopefully I’ll have time to work on that a bit more.

One of my other tasks or “challenges” is my Read-150-books-in-a-year challenge. I’m on... number thirty eight at the moment I think. TO be on target I should have read forty eight but I don’t really care at the moment because I have over twenty dollars in overdue library fines! I didn’t want to use this blog to rant but this is completely insane! This is one of the reasons why I hate Melbourne!

On another note, my visa waiver application was approved! Translation: I will most likely be able to enter America in July! SQUEE! Now, my manager at work Sonia knows I daydream a lot. I often get in trouble for this because I daydream instead of finding something to do with myself. I don’t limit my daydreaming to work though. I daydream everywhere. Of the many things I daydream about, Azkatraz nears the top. I can’t wait because it is going to be so fucking amazing!

Also, I don’t think I mentioned it here but I got kicked off Ravenclaw Rave on Sunday. I’m not going to go too much into it but basically they thought I was being too controlling which I think is bullshit but anyways, I’m not on the show anymore. This is kind of stupid since I was the one who came up with the idea to start a podcast to begin with, but whatever. I’m starting my own podcast which I’m calling ‘The Floo Network.’ I’m currently working on the website for this and will have a link soon!

I have only very recently protected my updates on Twitter because I’ve begun to get a lot of strange people following me. Most of them have been Twitter noobs who sign up for: 1. Advertising purposes. 2. Because they enjoy joining social networking sites and meeting random strangers and thinking they’re cool because they have a lot of internet friends. 3. Bots. I swear Sean from nigahiga is following me but he has some new YouTube account of his own that he is promoting. I’m considering unfollowing him. Andy is also following me now! Yay Andy! :P

I only recently started this blogging thing and I’m not going to be like I am on other social networking sites and follow tons and tons of blogs. I’m only reading Kristina, Hayley, Becca and Andy’s blog. I was reading Andy’s blog the other day where he was talking about how observing people can help in writing. I also find this helpful.

It reminds me of this book I read a long time ago (I can’t remember the name) where the main character was on a trip with lots of people and she just kept a diary and would observe people and note down stuff about them for help with her writing. I’ve found this interesting in writing in the past and often note down things about people to use in my writing in my head.

I’ve noticed that I get ideas for stories at the most random times as well. I usually get them at times when I don’t have pen and paper on me so I have to try and remember the idea until I get home. I could do without a lot of the ideas I’ve been getting lately actually.

Anyway, sorry my blog is really boring and kind of updating today but hopefully it will be more meaningful and insightful tomorrow.

Word to your bookshelf,

Kassi
